At restaurants
What is customary: A share of the bill, at any size
Worked example
On a ₱2,000.00 bill, 10% is ₱200.00, so you would hand over ₱2,200.00.
Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about ₱300.00 per person.
On a paid tour, 10% of the price on top.
Normal and appreciated. Boatmen and drivers on island tours are tipped separately.
