Customary: 15%–20%. As the mainland: 18-20% is expected and staff are paid on the assumption.
At restaurants

Worked example
On a $50.00 bill, 15% is $7.50, so you would hand over $57.50.
Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about $10.00 per person.
On a paid tour, 15%–20% of the price on top.
Guiding is a tipped job here on the same terms as waiting tables. Rainforest and bio-bay guides expect it.
