The rate looks wrong

Every currency figure in the app carries a line under it saying where the rate came from and how old it is: live, cached, built-in, or one you set. If it says built-in, the app has never reached the network — the number is from the table compiled into the app and could be months old. Pull down on the board to refresh, or set the rate by hand and yours will always win.

The app is in the wrong language, or writes numbers the wrong way

Two settings decide this, and neither is the currency. Preferred language is how the app speaks; Where is home? is how it writes numbers and dates — a German living in the United States types 1,234.56, and an American living in Germany types 1.234,56. Both are in Settings, and both are asked when the app first opens.

Neither changes when you swipe to another country, and neither is changed by where you are standing.

A tile disappeared

The board hides readings that cannot be what you meant — nobody types 1,500 and means degrees. When anything is held back, a Show N more control appears on the “Other” line. If you would rather nothing ever moved, Settings → What doesn't make sense → Dim keeps every tile in place and simply fades the ones that do not apply.

My number vanished

That is deliberate. Two minutes after you put the phone away, the typed number is cleared — a price you typed before your pocket is one you have walked away from, and a stale figure over the keypad looks like an answer to whatever you are holding now.

It opened on the wrong country

The app takes one location fix per launch. If you declined the location permission, it opens where you left it instead. Turn it on in iOS Settings → Convert Once → Location, or just swipe to the country you want.

How do I remove a country or a clock?

Swipe the row to the left, in either list, and tap the bin. The last country cannot be removed — the app would have nothing to show.

Can I type with a keyboard, or paste a number?

Yes. On an iPad with a keyboard, the digits, both decimal separators and the minus key all work, and ⌘V pastes a number. A pasted number is read the way home writes numbers: 1.234,56 and 1,234.56 both land as the same value, and an ambiguous 1,234 follows your home's convention.

Is my location sent anywhere?

No. It is turned into a country code on the device and thrown away. See the privacy page.
