Convert Once collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no server of ours anywhere in it. Everything the app knows stays on your phone.
What the app stores
Your deck of countries, your home currency and time zone, which board rows you have switched on or off and in what order, your tipping preferences, any exchange rates you have set by hand, and a cached copy of the last rate table it downloaded.
All of it is written to your device's own storage and stays there. It is not synced, not backed up to us, and not readable by anyone but the app. Deleting the app deletes it.
Location
Convert Once opens on the country you are standing in, the way the weather app opens where you are. To do that it asks for your location while you are using the app, and takes a single fix once per launch.
That fix is turned into a two-letter country code on the device and then discarded. Your coordinates are never stored and never transmitted to us — we have nowhere to transmit them to. If you decline the permission, the app opens on whichever page you last used and everything else works normally.
Weather
The temperature on the page comes from Apple WeatherKit. Apple receives the location of the request in order to answer it, and handles it under Apple's own privacy policy. Apple states that WeatherKit location data is not used to identify you or build a profile.
The one network request
The app fetches exchange rates from open.er-api.com, a public, keyless JSON file. The request carries no account, no identifier, and nothing about you — it is the same request for every person who makes it. That service will see your IP address, as any web server does.
A rate table is also compiled into the app, so it works with no network at all. Every figure in the app can tell you whether it came from a live fetch, a cached copy, the built-in table, or a rate you typed yourself.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-in, or email address required — or possible.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. No Firebase, no Amplitude, no Sentry.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party tracking SDKs of any kind.
- No data sold, shared, or brokered, because none is collected.
Children
Convert Once is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

If you write to us
Mail sent to [email protected] or [email protected] is forwarded to a personal mailbox so we can reply. We keep the correspondence for as long as it is useful and use it only to answer you.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to export, correct or erase — except any email you have sent us, which we will delete on request. Write to [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change ever means the app starts collecting something, it will be said plainly here and in the app before it happens.
