Tipping in Ireland
Customary: 10%–15%. At restaurants. Not expected at the bar in pubs.
At restaurants
What is customary: Not expected — welcome, but nobody is counting
Worked example
On a €50.00 bill, 10% is €5.00, so you would hand over €55.00.
Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about €10.00 per person.
On a paid tour, 10% of the price on top.
Free walking tours run on tips. Paid tours are tipped if the guide was good.
The money
Ireland uses the Euro (EUR). Today 1 GBP is 1.1665 EUR.
Tipping in other countries
