Tipping in Fiji
Customary: 5%–10%. Not expected. Many resorts keep a shared staff fund instead.
At restaurants
What is customary: Not expected — welcome, but nobody is counting
Worked example
On a FJ$100.00 bill, 5% is FJ$5.00, so you would hand over FJ$105.00.
Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about FJ$20.00 per person.
On a paid tour, 10% of the price on top.
Not traditional — many resorts run a shared staff fund instead of individual tips. Ask before handing cash to one person.
The money
Fiji uses the Fijian Dollar (FJD). Today 1 USD is 2.2018 FJD.
