Tipping in China
Tipping is not customary. No tipping in most places. Tour guides and hotel porters are the exception.

Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about ¥50.00 per person.
On a paid tour, a flat ¥100.00 per person per day, whatever it cost.
Guides and drivers are the one place tipping is normal. Reckon per day rather than per tour, and the driver gets about half what the guide does.
The money
China uses the Chinese Yuan (CNY). Today 1 GBP is 9.1112 CNY.
