Tipping in Israel
Customary: 10%–15%. 10–15%, often in cash even when the meal itself is paid by card.
At restaurants
What is customary: A share of the bill, at any size
Worked example
On a ₪200.00 bill, 10% is ₪20.00, so you would hand over ₪220.00.
Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about ₪50.00 per person.
On a paid tour, 10%–15% of the price on top.
Expected, and guiding is a licensed profession here — day tours are tipped near the top of that range.
The money
Israel uses the Israeli New Shekel (ILS). Today 1 GBP is 4.0954 ILS.
Tipping in other countries
