Customary: 10%–20%. 10–15% is normal. Check the bill for "propina" before adding — it is sometimes included.
At restaurants
What is customary: A share of the bill, at any size
Worked example
On a MX$1,000.00 bill, 10% is MX$100.00, so you would hand over MX$1,100.00.
Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about MX$200.00 per person.
On a paid tour, 10%–15% of the price on top.
Expected. On a day tour the driver is tipped separately from the guide.
