Worked example
On a CL$50,000 bill, 10% is CL$5,000, so you would hand over CL$55,000.
Tour guides
On a “free” walking tour, the tip is the fare: about CL$10,000 per person.
On a paid tour, 10% of the price on top.
Free walking tours run on tips. Paid tours are tipped modestly.
